Sage Gateshead is committed to protecting your information and your privacy. We promise to only use your information with your consent and in full compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation, 2018.
Operated by North Music Trust, Sage Gateshead is an international home for music and musical discovery, bringing about a widespread and long-term enrichment of the musical life of the North East of England. Our inclusive approach enables all our performance, learning and participation programmes to be constantly inspired and supported by each other.

When you purchase a ticket from us, sign up to our mailing lists, make a donation, register for an event or use any of other services, we will ask for your information which is required and appropriate for the delivery of the service.
When we ask for your information, we will ask for your consent to use your information for other purposes, such as to help improve our products and services, send you marketing information or to provide your information to third parties. As a registered charity that is in receipt of funding, we may ask for other information that funders have asked us to collect.

This is voluntary, and you are not obliged to provide any further information beyond what is appropriate and required for the delivery of a service.
Giving You Control
We retain information for a period of eight years after your association with us has come to an end. Some information may be retained indefinitely for historical, statistical or research purposes. You have the right to request us to remove your data, as stated in our “your rights” section.
We may tell you about concerts, events and other Sage Gateshead related information for up to three years after your association. We have made it easy for you to let us know how you want to hear from us, by logging in to your account on our website or by contacting our box office team. You can opt out of these marketing communications at any time, every email we send you will tell you how to do this.
If you have opted out of our marketing and communication, we may still contact you. This could be if there is any important information about the events you’ve booked or to inform you of any changes.

Where we use third party suppliers to provide services to fulfil our contract with you, we will only use and disclose your information necessary to allow the supplier to perform the services they provide for Sage Gateshead. Such services include email and mailing house distribution.
Where Sage Gateshead will only use third party services where agreements are in place to ensure your data is protected and used in compliance with GDPR legislation.

How we process your information
Your personal data will be held and processed on Sage Gateshead’s systems or systems managed by suppliers on behalf of Sage Gateshead in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation.
We use a customer relationship management (CRM) system to store all customer information as well as records of your interactions with Sage Gateshead, such as ticket purchases, donations, memberships and feedback.
Access to customer information is strictly controlled. The CRM system can only be accessed by people who need it to do their job. Where required, sensitive information is segregated and controlled, and only made visible to members of staff who have a reason to work with it.
On occasions, your information may be extradited from the CRM system to support with the delivery of a service. For example, to create a register for a class or event, or to process a gift aid claim. We have procedures in place to ensure that when information is removed from the system it is processed in accordance with GDPR legislation and ICO guidance.
From time to time, we may ask you to provide sensitive information. We will only ask for this information when it is required for the delivery of service, such as when you apply for a job.
We hold sensitive information securely and it is restricted to those who need to use it. Such information is erased when it is no longer required.
